My first deepfake gives a speech on AI and the media landscape (and how to create your own)
Prince George of Wales and his friend Winnie the Pooh give a speech on AI and the Media landscape.
helllooo! hi how are you!! i’m good except the fact that everything I have learned about AI has been against my will!
ANYWAY.
I’ve been testing a TON of creative AI tools over the past month to better understand the tools available, capabilities, pricing models all while asking myself..is this all just glorified copyright infringement? I will share which tools I used to create this video and a few takeaways.
I created this video to talk about AI and the media landscape and I originally wanted Winnie the Pooh to give this speech given Winnie the Pooh is now in the public domain, free for anyone to use. But the AI deepfake tools don’t allow any avatar without a human face! So instead I used Prince George who is speaking on behalf of his friend Winnie the Pooh…which all feels very illegal..enjoy!
Good morning, dear friends, it is a delight to be here today to talk about something rather exciting, artificial intelligence in the media landscape. I am your friendly speaker, prince George of Wales, with my friend Winnie the Pooh, and I have been keeping a keen eye on the current state of ai, just like how Winnie the Pooh is always eager to explore new adventures in the hundred acre wood.
We too are embarking on a journey of discovery with AI in the media industry. AI has been buzzing with excitement from content creation to audience engagement. Silicon Valley says it's the next frontier where new billionaires are born. OpenAI was founded nine years ago and has received over 11 billion in funding.
What do the greatest minds in the world have to show for it? Dall-e, these images look like some technology company chewed the entire internet up and spat it back out to feed us like baby birds. Why is everything sort of blurry, not to mention, all created from content stolen across the internet. Without consent to use it without credit to the authors and without any compensation.
This all feels really illegal.
Just like how Pooh always finds a way to solve problems with his friends. We can navigate the complexities of AI together.
In the world of fairy tales. Sometimes Prince Charming isn't actually charming after all. He actually might be quite creepy and mysterious, but just like how Poo sometimes gets stuck in a honey tree.
We must be careful not to get stuck entertaining machines at the expense of artists' rights. We must ensure that AI generated content respects human creativity and originality. After all, it's the human touch that makes media truly special. We must be cautious, just like how Rabbit is cautious about planting too many carrots in his garden.
Recommendation algorithms can inadvertently create echo chambers and filter bubbles limiting the diversity of content. Users are exposed to. If you saw Fast and Furious 10 and thought, wow, I wish I could watch another dozen of these same movies, then this is good news for you. More remakes, reboots, and sequels who will have the guts to make something truly original.
Every agency in town will be hopping on the AI train making red flags look like six flags. We must ensure that AI powered recommendations are fair, transparent, and inclusive, just like how we share honey with all our friends in the a hundred acre wood. The ethical implications of AI and media can be as thorny as a prickly bush like the one Eeyore sometimes encounters.
AI is being used in areas such as facial recognition, deep fakes and news generation, raising concerns about privacy, authenticity, and trust. As media professionals, we have a responsibility to ensure that the content we create and share is authentic and trustworthy. Just like how Eeyore is always honest and reliable.
We must prioritize ethical considerations and establish industry-wide standards to prevent the misuse of AI and media. My dear friends, as we journey through the world of AI and media, let us be as wise, as Owl, as creative, as Tigger, as honest as Eeyore, and as collaborative as Christopher Robbin. Let's embrace the possibilities of AI in the media landscape while being mindful of the challenges that lie ahead.
I used 4 programs to create this video. Anyone can use these tools and create this.
Total cost for a 3min video: $57.98.
Total time it took to create: 2 hours.
Here’s what I used:
